Peters Township Food Pantry News The next distribution will be on Friday, September 12, at 9:30 a.m. at Center Presbyterian Church (second Friday of the month). A box is located in the church narthex of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church for your donations. Please note that they cannot distribute food that has been opened or has expired. Monetary donations can be sent to: Peters Township Food Pantry c/o Our Redeemer Lutheran Church 105 Gateshead Drive McMurray, PA 15317-3101 Help is also needed with the distribution. They can use volunteers on Thursday, September 11 at 3:00 p.m. for set-up and on Friday, September 12 from 8:30-9:00 a.m. for distribution. If you can help, please call 724-942-0594. If you would like to register to receive food from the food pantry, please call 724-942-0594 by the first of the month and leave your name and telephone number. Do not call Center Presbyterian Church. Garden Gleaning for the Peters Township Food Pantry “I can not stand to eat one more zucchini!” Sound familiar? In a few short weeks our local gardens will begin to yield their bounty. Often times we are blessed with more produce than we can or want to eat. Don’t throw it away…don’t leave it to spoil…Donate your excess produce. This year we encourage you to share your garden abundance with the Peters Township Food Pantry. It will serve as a fresh and nutritious supplement to the non-perishable foods so many of our neighbors depend upon especially now as prices continue to climb. Your garden donations may be left at Center Presbyterian Church on Thursday, September 11 and October 9 from 9 AM to 3 PM (the day before distribution). Workday for Habitat for Humanity September 13 As we have done in the past, we will take a group to work on a Habitat for Humanity project on the second Saturday of the month. Our next (and final) workday will be on September 13. We will leave from the church at 8:30 a.m. and proceed to the Habitat office in Washington for our work assignment. Won’t you join us?
