Mission on the Mon, June 24-29
Mission on the Mon is a week-long Christian neighborhood immersion experience in McKeesport for youth, filled with mission projects in the local community, exposure to innovative ministries in the area, and plenty of fun. Mission on the Mon is a ministry of Faith Lutheran Church in White Oak and the Southwestern Pennsylvania Synod of the ELCA, in partnership with many local ministries and agencies. All youth going into grade 9 and having completed grade 12 by Fall 2012 are invited to apply. The cost is $140 per person due June 1. Participants are expected to participate in all activities to the best of their ability and engage in community activities. Professional staff members and counselors will be present at all times. Registration forms are available from Pastor Broome and are due in to Faith Lutheran by June 1, so we will need them by May 25. For more information visit Faith Lutheran or find them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/groups/missiononthemon. Watch your email for your youth newsletter for more information.
Vacation Bible School, August 6-9, 9:15 AM - 12:00 Noon. Make plans to join us as we travel back in time to the days of Babylon.
Recycling Printer Cartridges
We continue to recycle printer cartridges. Please bring your used inkjet and laser cartridges from home and work and place them in the recycling box in the narthex. (Please wrap the cartridge in paper towels or place in original box to protect the sensors.) Used cartridges are tested and resold to the manufacturers, reducing the number that pile up in landfills. The money that we receive from this program will offset the cost of future youth gatherings.
