Bowley's Quarters, Maryland
From July 10-15, 2005 members from Our Redeemer traveled to Bowley’s Quarters, Maryland where they helped rebuild homes and property damaged by Hurricane Isabel in September, 2003.
Ocean Springs, Mississippi
More than a dozen members and friends of Our Redeemer traveled to Mississippi during the week of February 12-19, 2006 to help people in the Gulf region recover from Hurricane Katrina. We were part of a group of about 42 people from our synod working in Mississippi that week.
We stayed at a Lutheran Church in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, across the Gulf from Biloxi. The hurricane has reduced many homes to piles of rubble stretching on for mile after mile.
Prestonsburg, Kentucky
Ten members and friends of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church traveled to Prestonsburg, Kentucky June 25-30, 2006 to help families recover from flash flooding that occurred two years ago. While there, they dug drainage ditches, installed drywall, removed debris, and repaired a bridge.
Ocean Springs, Mississippi
We went back to Mississippi February 4-11, 2007. It has been a little over 17 months since the destruction on August 29, 2005. Some progress has been made, but there is still a lot to be done.
Binghamton, New York
Eight members and friends traveled to Binghamton, New York the week of July 8-13, 2007 to help with flood recovery along the upper Susquehanna River. We worked together to decipher the wiring, rewire, and rebuild the walls of a prefabricated home which had been flooded last summer.
Ocean Springs, Mississippi
Our Redeemer worked January 20-26, 2008 to help with disaster relief, recovery and rebuilding along the Gulf Coast. Even though Hurricane Katrina swept through two years ago, the devastation still remains.
Ironton, Ohio
During the week of July 6-11, 2008 we took 15 people to Ironton, Ohio, for our Summer Servant Event. Our crew worked on building wheelchair ramps and turning an old parsonage into public space.
Ocean Springs, Mississippi
Four years after Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast devastation still exists and work is still being done on homes and businesses. Five members of Our Redeemer traveled to Mississippi the week of February 8, 2009 to help with the rebuilding.
Monticello, Indiana
From July 12-17, 2009 a group worked in North Central Indiana where the Tippecanoe River had flooded three times in the past 15 months. They constructed a deck and framed interior walls on a flood-damaged home.
Ocean Springs, Mississippi
In 2005 Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast. Four members of Our Redeemer along with others from the Southwestern Pennsylvania Synod
